According to the latest reports from Korean media, South Korea exported 590,000 passenger vehicles in the third quarter, a year-on-year increase of 26.8%, driven by the increase in exports of new energy vehicles such as electric vehicles.

In terms of the output value of exported passenger cars, South Korean media reported that it reached US$12.6 billion, compared with US$9.7 billion in the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 30.1%. The average price of exported passenger cars was US$21,273, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%.

The report also shows that in the third quarter of South Korea's exports of passenger cars, exports to the US market increased by 58% year-on-year, the Canadian market increased by 35.6% year-on-year, and the Australian market increased by 34.1% year-on-year.

While exports increased, South Korea’s imports of passenger vehicles also increased in the third quarter, up 17.7% year-on-year, and the import value increased to US$3.5 billion.

In terms of new energy vehicles, the export value mentioned in the Korean media report reached 4 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 42.3%.
