Data shows that since April, some domestic hydrogen energy vehicle manufacturers have successively received orders for hydrogen energy heavy trucks from some cities and enterprises, but the number is not large. By July, orders for hydrogen energy heavy trucks from cities and enterprises across the country suddenly surged. Whether it is July or August, the number of orders in each month exceeds the sum of orders in the three months from April to June.
Especially on July 22, Grove signed a cooperation agreement for 5,700 hydrogen energy vehicles with Inner Mongolia Zhongji Hydrogen Energy and 4 units in Erdos City, Inner Mongolia. On September 1, Weichai and Sinotruk signed a large order for 1,100 hydrogen energy commercial vehicles with Qingdao Shengtonghua Co., Ltd., Zibo Zhanhong Automobile Co., Ltd., Tongxinzhixing Logistics Technology Co., Ltd. and other customers, covering 4.5 tons of urban logistics. Vehicles, 18-ton logistics vehicles, 49-ton tractors and other series of products, equipped with Weichai hydrogen fuel cell power ranging from 50kW to 200kW.
According to media statistics, since April, up to now, the domestic order volume of hydrogen energy heavy trucks has accumulated more than 10,000 units, which is a very considerable number.
Industry insiders said that the surge in orders for hydrogen energy heavy trucks is undoubtedly closely related to the country's new energy policy. On March 23 this year, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the "Medium and Long-Term Plan for the Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry (2021-2035)", and the number of fuel cell vehicles will be about 50,000 by 2025. With the support of the policy, the use of hydrogen energy heavy trucks will usher in a surge, which is also an inevitable thing.
According to the fuel cell vehicle urban agglomeration demonstration goals and points evaluation regulations, each hydrogen heavy truck with a power exceeding 110kW can receive a reward of 462,000 yuan. This generous subsidy reward reduces the use and purchase cost of hydrogen energy heavy trucks. Coupled with the trend of carbon reduction and environmental protection, many customers will take the initiative to buy or use hydrogen energy heavy trucks.
Another expert predicts that the market demand for hydrogen energy heavy trucks is expected to exceed one million units in the next 30 years, which will bring about a substantial drop in the cost of use. At present, the energy use cost of hydrogen energy heavy trucks is about 50% higher than that of diesel heavy trucks and pure electric heavy trucks. But with the increase in the use of hydrogen-based heavy-duty trucks, the cost of energy use should come down soon.
