The international direct car ro-ro route from Yancheng Port in Jiangsu to Durban Port in South Africa departed for the first time, providing a new sea channel for the export of domestic cars.

According to Zhang Wei, the captain of the first team on duty at the Yancheng border inspection station, the ro-ro ship "Liming" carrying out the maiden voyage from Yancheng Port to Durban Port in South Africa carried 2,350 new vehicles from Great Wall Motors and SAIC Motor. The types include pickups, SUVs, etc., with a value of about 353 million yuan. After the ro-ro ship is shipped from Dafeng Port, it passes through the Pacific Ocean, crosses the Strait of Malacca, crosses the Indian Ocean, and finally arrives at Durban Port in South Africa. The route is about 7,300 nautical miles and the estimated sailing time is 20 days. In addition, in the middle of this month, a batch of more than 2,300 Great Wall Motors will be exported to foreign countries at the Yancheng Port Ro-Ro Terminal.
