On September 27, at the State Council's regular policy briefing held by the State Council Information Office, Wang Shouwen, the International Trade Negotiator and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, said that China's auto exports have grown rapidly this year, and maritime auto transportation requires special ships -- ro-ro shipping. Due to insufficient capacity, the Ministry of Commerce is actively coordinating the transportation of automobiles through the China-Europe freight train. At the same time, it also supports shipping companies to innovate transportation methods together with the transportation department. Multi-purpose ships are equipped with special frames to carry automobiles, which alleviates the problem of tight automobile export capacity.
Relevant data show that from January to August this year, automobile exports reached 1.9 million, an increase of 44.5% over the same period last year. Especially in August this year, auto companies exported 308,000 vehicles, a record high, and for the first time exported more than 300,000 vehicles in a single month.
The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers predicts that my country's auto exports are expected to exceed 2.4 million units this year, and the sales volume is expected to account for nearly 10%, becoming an important part of my country's auto production and sales.
"The current global auto industry pattern is changing, and my country's auto exports are entering a period of rapid growth." On September 3, Meng Yue, deputy director of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce, said at the 2022 TEDA Forum that in 2021, my country's auto exports will reach 2,015,000 vehicles, doubled compared to 10 years ago, achieving leapfrog development.
In Meng Yue's view, automobiles are a key product that supports the high-quality development of foreign trade. With the increasing international competitiveness of my country's automobile industry, the huge potential of automobile trade is expected to be released faster.
At the same time, Chinese self-owned brand car companies are accelerating their overseas deployment. After years of technology accumulation and deep cultivation of overseas markets, Chinese companies have begun to try to exchange technology and management for the market locally. Auto companies continue to promote the localization of overseas markets, and have established a full-life-cycle service system covering R&D, production, sales, and after-sales.
At the same time, by building a local supply chain, the export of parts and components has also been promoted. After years of technology accumulation and deep cultivation of overseas markets, some companies have begun to try to use technology and management to exchange markets locally, opening up the global development of Chinese car companies. new path.
It is worth mentioning that as more and more Chinese self-owned brand car companies with core competitiveness emerge on the international stage and actively participate in the competition in the global auto market, they have gradually achieved leadership from following. At present, the market share of my country's own brand car companies in Chile, Egypt, Russia and Malaysia has increased significantly. Since the beginning of this year, the export of self-owned brand car companies has continued to develop, and the export volume of Wuling, Great Wall, Geely, Changan, Dongfeng and other vehicles has exceeded 100,000 for the first time.
In addition, my country's new energy vehicles also have a certain first-mover advantage. According to the latest evaluation results of the "China New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Report", in 2021, China's new energy vehicle international competitiveness will rank second in the world, and more and more Chinese new energy vehicle products are entering the market of developed countries such as Europe.
Different from traditional fuel vehicles, the sales volume of new energy vehicles exported to developed countries accounted for as high as 85.6%. A number of electric models including BYD, Xiaopeng, Weilai and Dongfeng have been exported to Europe successively.
On September 26, 500 Lantu FREE set off from Wuhan and officially sent to Norway. According to the plan, from 2023, Lantu FREE will also enter four countries: Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Israel; at the same time, Lantu's second product, the electric luxury flagship MPV, Lantu Dreamer, has undergone European adaptive development and will also be developed in 2023. officially launched in the European market.
"China's industrial products will definitely go to the European and American markets in the future." On September 26, Lu Fang, CEO of Lantu Automobile, said in an interview with a reporter from the 21st Century Business Herald, "The European automobile market pattern will also occur in the future. A big change. On the one hand, it is switching from fuel vehicles to electric vehicles; on the other hand, the process of electrification will definitely be accompanied by changes in brands. Not only Lantu, but many Chinese car companies will all be involved in this change. Take your chance."
However, it should be pointed out that at present, my country's auto exports are still facing challenges such as tight supply of chips and lack of overseas supporting funds, which restrict the release of export potential to a certain extent.
"Whether the automobile industry is strong will be tested by the international market. Promoting the international development of the automobile industry is the only way to build a strong automobile country. Next, the Ministry of Commerce will further deepen the opening to the outside world, in order to promote the high-quality development of automobile trade and enhance the international competitiveness of the automobile industry. A good environment." Meng Yue said.
