On November 28, with a long siren, 140 domestic 7-seat SUVs were exported to Moscow, Russia via the Hunchun Railway Port by China-Europe Express. This is the first Russian cage car export train at the Hunchun Railway Port, providing a new export form for railway transportation of goods.
This time, a total of 250 vehicles were exported from the Hunchun Railway Port, and they were sent out in two batches. In the past, complete vehicles for export were loaded in containers, and each container could only hold 2 vehicles. However, it is transported by cage car, and each cage car can hold 10 cars, which can effectively improve transportation efficiency and save logistics costs.
This trial operation is a new railway cargo delivery organization model that Hunchun Railway Port fully utilizes the characteristics of the membership of the Northeast Asia Railway Group International Railway Organization and actively discusses with the Russian State Railways. The business operation enables all exported vehicles to be directly loaded on cage cars at the Hunchun Railway Port, creating a new development space for the next step to optimize China's vehicle export business form, increase the scale of delivery, and help car companies reduce costs and increase efficiency.
In recent years, the construction of Hunchun’s external channels has successively opened up import channels for bulk resources and energy products from Russia, cross-border rail-sea multimodal transport, domestic trade and foreign transport corridors, and China-Europe freight train export corridors from Hunchun to Europe, Central Asia and the Russian inland wait. According to statistics, from January to October this year, the Hunchun Railway Port exported about 3,444 tons of complete vehicles, with a total of 113 containers and 226 vehicles.
The relevant person in charge of the Hunchun Port Management Service Center said that the Hunchun Railway Port, as the only railway port in Jilin Province to Russia, will further strengthen the construction of infrastructure such as railway professional cage yards and stations, and create a new logistics and transportation corridor that supports the development of the automobile industry in Jilin Province.
